Top 7 Rated Social Media Networking Sites
Posted by ishareusa on November 9, 2008
If you are new to internet marketing, trying to grow an online business to make money, then you may not know how important it is to become a part of the social networking communities. Using the social networking sites will help you gain awesome amounts of traffic to your website or blog. You can also use it as a chance to build an email list by asking them to sign-up for your newsletter or whatever it is that you have to offer them.
There are so many social media sites to choose from that you might not know which sites are the best to become a part of. Here are the top 7 social media sites that I think you should join no matter what your niche or goal is:
Twitter – This is at the top of my list. Twitter is a site where you can write short messages, in real-time, for your followers to see. You can let your followers know when you’ve updated your blog, when you have added a new item/service to your website, etc. You get the idea. You can also find people for you to follow as well that have useful info, tools, etc., to help you with your needs.
Squidoo – Here you make a web page, which they call a lens, that is specific to the niche that you choose. There is no limit on how many lenses you can make. You can even make money from your lens from ads and affiliate links. Squidoo is one of the 300 most popular websites in the US. This is one of the best sources of traffic to your site.
Facebook – Here you can connect with millions of people that use this site daily. You have the ability to create a page for your business and create an ad to send out to thousands of facebook members with your same interests.
MySpace – This site is one of the most popular. You can build a huge network of contacts. Some of the members of myspace have 100’s to 1,000’s of friends in their extended network and you have the ability to socialize with all of them. This makes for a huge amount of prospects for list building.
YouTube – Using this site is great because you can make and upload videos for this huge community to see. YouTube reports that it has 71 million unique users each month and has the 6th largest audience on the Internet. You have the ability to connect with a targeted audience on a very large scale.
StumbleUpon – I like this site because you can reccomend your sites/blogs for other community members to view that have your same interests. This brings great traffic to your site. You will also have reccomended sites on your home page to view that you may not find using the search engines. You can stumble (view) websites, videos, even other stumblers profiles where you can send them messages and invite them to see your favorite sites.
Digg – There are a lot of interesting things that you can find through this site. Once you choose something to digg, it then becomes a part of a list where other diggers can view and rate if they digg it or not. Then if it gets enough diggs, it will be on the popular list. You can invite your contacts to your friends list and let them view all of the great content that you have dugg. Then those contacts will refer their contacts to be added to your list, and wha-la, your making new contacts for your offers.
I hope that you find that these networking sites are as great for you as they have been for me. I actually was not having much success making money online until I started becoming a part of those communities and gaining contacts. I am part of other social networking sites as well, though I have had the best results with these 7. If you have the time to apply yourself to these social sites, then you will have a better chance of success.
Good Luck to you all!!
